Should units that have the bombard capability bombard the city walls first? That's kinda why these units were created in the real world -- to knock down the city walls!

"Catapult destroys sewer system." Huh?
I agree completly. I think that you should be able to aim for a certain improvment but with a chance of succes for each. Example, you press "B" for bombard and then click on the city. Then a menu should pop-up with all the improvments. The you choose what you want to bombard in the list: Walls 60% chance of hit, temple 40% chance of hit and so on.
Spec.
-Never argue with an idiot; He will bring you down to his level and beat you with experience.
You shouldn't have to choose, and have another annoying popup. It should be automatic. The walls, barracks and military units go first (except the occassional miss which hits something else).

It depends on what your goal is. I'd like to destroy temples, libraries and catherals. The there's a chance that the city will go into civil disorder and that increases the chance that the city will flip over to you.

And if you have 20 artillery, you have to choose 20 times? (Do you really target religious buildings?)

Well, I NEVER have 20 artillery and if I COULD, yes I would target religious buildings depending on the situation. SPec.
With 20 artillery, you wouldn't normally have to target nuns and choir boys.
I think it should be automatic as well and should go straight for the city walls first. After that you can pick and choose a target.
Afterall you can't knock down something inside the city until you can get inside the city (with the obvious caveat that accuracy increases over time and Howies (in the real world) can pick buildings off over the walls. But still, the point is to get over/through the wall and into the city -- wait for it -- First!)
I think it would increase the utility of bombard units if this feature were incorporated.

I'm afraid it does happen. You have to be a STPD mother FCKR like the talibans or the albanian UCK (there is a barbarian tribe called Ilyrs which Albanians boast they descend from, maybe they should be given emphasis on destroying religious improvements when they win a battle at a city)
I assure you Mr. Ambassador, we're not building a Doom's Day Machine

If you want to get technical, the early cannons were meant for knocking down walls. Later, artillery was designed to arc over any defenses and bypass the wall altogether.
