  • Colossos causes golden age for the French

While playing the French and having built the Piramids I was very surprised that the completion of The Colossos caused a golden age. The French are commercial and industrious. The Colossos is religious and expansionistic. Seems a bug to me!

    I am playing 1.17f.

Maybe that's a Civolopedia typo. To me, it seems the Colossus would be commercial since it brings in so much commerce.

The Colossos, solely, also causes a golden age for The Sioux. And they are religious and expansionistic. So it doesn't to be a fault in the civilopedia.

Maybe the Colossos has some hidden commercial feature?

In the editor the Collosus is Commercial, Religious, and Expansionist.

Pyramids has an Industrious attribute, no? Collossus has a Commercial attribute. Build them both and there you go---> Golden Age.

Just be happy with that golden age

I got a Golden Age with the English from building Leo's workshop. The only other wonder I had was the Colossus.

                According to the Civilopedia (1.17f),
The English are Expansionist and Commercial.

Leo's Workshop "may trigger Golden Age for Militaristic"
Colossus "may trigger Golden Age for Expansionist or Religious"

Though, you guys said the editor says "Collosus is Commercial, Religious, and Expansionist."

Also, I captured the Colossus, I did not build it. You'd think that when I captured it, it would have given the Golden Age.

Instead, I can only guess that building any wonder triggers the check of wonders and tribe "natural strengths" (quoth Civilopedia).
"For it must be noted, that men must either be caressed or else annihilated; they will revenge themselves for small injuries, but cannot do so for great ones; the injury therefore that we do to a man must be such that we need not fear his vengeance." - Niccolo Machiavelli

You're right Shadowlord. Capturing a wonder won't trigger the golden age check, but captured wonders will be included in that check.
