    About MP

They prolly made some error messages for that, while they thought they'd release Multiplayer, and forgot to remove those... just another one of those flaws....

According to Firaxis, these are part of a .dll file containing standard functions used in civ3... I assume the same one as in SMAC, the MP error messages are necessary for it to run (even if they're not used), so it's no big conspiricy.

yeah, and the same thing is in SimGolf too. it's needed (or is a left-over) because of the engine used (SMAC)

Civ II SP had some multiplayer strings in the text files.
