  • When it says (Gracious) does it mean anything at all?

Let's face it: a AI controlled player can't even determine who they like and don't like. They have no problem declaring war on civs they like very much (gracious or something.)

The new structures that appeared with trade embargos and stuff are inexplainable stupid. Suppose I (Rome) want to help my gracious friends, the Aztecs in their war against Persia. Persia gets China to sign a military alliance against me and next thing is that the Aztecs declare war on me because of some kind of agreement.
So: Aztecs declare war on me because I help them out.

It means that they won't do anything stupid for at least a turn or two.

True. The peace isn't going to last long.

            They all love me.

I think that they make slightly better offers when gracious but I'm not sure.

That means that they will somtimes give you a banana.

There is usally only one civ that is gracious towards me and that is Germany. We both exchange lots of free gifts.

It means they won't go for your throat just yet, but don't abandon your borders or they'll be furious and at war fast.
