    Hi,

I'm new to the forum. I play at the warlord level, and I don't win very often. No way, no how, except occasionally with the Russians or the Greeks. Consequently, I was happily surprised to learn via Gamespot.com that a cheat exists - just name yourself Leemur and you would automatically get 100,000 gold in your treasury.

Well I named myself Leemur the first time, and Leemur the Leemur of the Germans the second try and still no money. Just the ten gold that everyone gets to start.

Have I done something wrong, or is Gamespot.com just pulling everybody's leg?
    Very respectfully,

    Jerry

Sorry man, but I'd say that Gamespot is pulling your leg but I could be wrong. And second, once you get good there's no way you'll need that cheat (is it ever works) cuz you'll make 200 gold a turn still at monarchy which is more than you need really.

There's never too much gold, and you can make ~800 under Democracy, and Gamespot is lying here.

Sounds more like a cheat for CtP2 than for Civ3... (St Swithin, a CtP2 designer, had something with lemurs)

It is the cheat from CTP2. I had forgotten it, thank for reminding me what is was.

My advise is to try and improve your game instead of cheating. Try beelining for the Great Library in the Ancient Era, and setting your research to 10%, if you really want gold so much.....

Thanks all of you for the advice.

I've advised Gamespot of their error.
