I have one every way except for a cultural victory. I can't seem to win this way. I thought you had to get over 100,000 cutural points or 20,000 in one city. I have done this but still hasn't worked. Anyone know what you have to do and have any tips on doing it?

Cultural Victory??

Hi
I just got a cultural victory in 1822; my first without doing any reloading cheating. Played at Monarch with a huge map and the barbs turned off.
I think you only need 20,000 cultural points in one city; but that is very difficult. If I am correct the easier way is to get 100.000 cultural ponts for your whole civ plus you have to have twice as many as the next highest civ.
I got the 100.000 and then attacked Persia who was next highest; reduced them to almost nothing. This seemed to work eventually. Civ cultural values go down (and up) very slowly). Cultural values of temples double after a thousand years so try and build them before about 700AD so that you get the bonus before the game runs out.

I find it easier to get the 20,000 in one city, than 100,000 over the whole civ. You just build all the wonders with a decent culture rating in the one city."Giving money and power to government is like giving whiskey and car keys to teenage boys."

BTW: Too many cities under communism screws you over also. So that is not the answer.

20000 in a city is way easier. Get that city poping out the Pyramid and Oracle ASAP! With that in mind, just keep building wonders in that one city. Just be cool and all the other civs will just love you to now end.I drink to one other, and may that other be he, to drink to another, and may that other be me!

Seriously. It is damn near impossible to get the early wonders on all but the easier levels. The only way is to give up expansion in favor of the wonder. Unless you are at war and get leaders. But they seem rare early in the game.[c3c] 1.22(f?)

Anyway you get your kicks your way and I'll get mine my way.
Agree with above that Cultural on Monarch is fairly easy; but am finding it impossible on Diety. Has anyone actually done it. Would like to hear. The Hall of fame on civ fanatics did not have any when I last looked.

cultural victory is really annoying. right about when i'm gearing up for a proper war... bam! "you win!" crap pops up.
luckily, c3mt lets you disable it in existing save games, and i turn it off for new ones
hmm... i wonder if turning it off in a game i already won that way will let me keep playing and win properly...it's just my opinion. can you dig it?
