  • WARNING: Patch confusion

New patch at Infogames server is not same as one before.

And I am not talking about editor.

    civ3mod.bic file is different.
New version has FIXED "Army from Huts" problem.
(in fact, hut prices are as they were before 1.17f)

    Here is the updated BIC:

Hey, I already attached that file in the Army from Hut thread. Do you really think it needs it own thread?

      Yes, it does.
How do you mean to make people play tournaments withiout knowing this.

In fact I think it NEEDS to be toped to avoid confusion.

And in last several days I have seen so much rant about "army in hut" in various threads about issuse which is already FIXED.

hehe, actually I have never heard of it.

        What exactly is the problem.

I got my patch from fileplanet. Hopefully they had the right one. The firaxis website doesn't work for me for some reason.

          The turnies have no huts.

Check the version number of your editor (should be 1.15 for the right patch)

              Yeah, you are right.

But, maybe some new tournament with huts?

If not, you'll need updated EDITOR,
and BIC file from this thread.

Even a tiny chage in editor would make your game crash.
That's since editor supplied from start was more "advanced" then it should, so 1.17 ver Civ3 couldn't read those BICs.

(evidence that Firaxis is working on editor)

I agree that this thread should be topped. It is extremely confusing to have two versions of the same patch floating around. Especially since people who installed the first version of the patch and then downloaded the correct version of the editor may not realise that they do not have the same version of the game as anyone else.

I also hope that someone from Firaxis will confirm that the only changes between the 14 Feb version of the patch and the 15 Feb version are the correct version of the editor and the change to the BIC file to avoid getting advanced units from huts.

Well, from the timestamp of the files that is the only change.
