I just want to say that the 1.17 patch is fine and helps the game playability a lot! So, take it from guys like me who like Civ3 (with it's flaws of course), It's worth installing!!! It gives you stack movement! Not a perfect stack movement but a lot better than moving one unit at a time. Just that should be a good enough reason to install the patch. And no it doesn't make the game crash or anything. I also found the AI to be a bit more agressive, but maybe that's just me.....

But what I wanna say is:"Yes it is worth while!!"

The only thing I dont like is that it wont work with every saved game you had before installing, but I was expecting that so I dont really mind.

The prupose of this thread is to answer to all those threads like: Should I install 1.17? Well.....YES!!!

Yes, I agree with you, but I guess that's not much of a surprise.

The reintroduction of the sentry command is particuarly useful. As is the the new expansion bar in the city menu.

I can't comment on all the new goodies that people claim that they're now finding in goody huts since I keep receiving the same crappola (Maps, warriors, 50 gold, etc.) that I received before.

Overall, 1.17f is a definite and positive step towards tying up the remaining loose ends in the game.

I don't have any problems at all with the new patch, everything works fine. I know there are some bugs (the "moving-units-in-a-stack-unloads-the-army" bug), but nothing spoils the game to me.

Also, I think that the AI is definitely much more aggressive with this patch, and actually I like it!
