I hope this is the right place forthis question. I've seen a lot of unit/graphis mods on the site and wanted to start playing myself. what software do you all use to create/modify these .pcx files?

You can use any graphics editor that will save your images in pcx format. Photoshop and Picture Publisher are two examples.
