having served on one there are many difference.
I actually created one in civ2. I beefed up HP's and defense of them. Of course that made it a target of ai cruise missles
I served on an older one. USS Guam. It only had helicopters. Although we could handle harriers as well. We didn't have the hull that opened up to allow those marine amphib boats to exit the ship.
The newer LHA's did have that along with a much larger flight deck.Comment

Wouldn't matter... Helicopters are useless in Civ3 anyway.
