Will our suggestions/complaints/requests be put in upcoming patches?

almost certainly not - your chances are improved if your suggestions are in a post started by a firaxis bod or has a reply by a firaxis bod. The more controversial and complex the suggestion the less likely - in fact if it isnt a small tweak then probability is about as much as a tank being killed by a longbowman. Oh wait, that's a little high..

The question is not whether our suggestions will be in the next patch. The question is whether there IS a next patch.==========================

I'll bet most of our complaints will be in the next patch
I think the game as Firaxis made it is done. What I hope they DO deliver is a kick-ass editor. Things I want to do with it:
Tweak what leaders can and can't do (specifically how many shields they can deliver to a city, as opposed to just immediately building ANYTHING - a bit to powerful IMO).
Add some more governments of course, and more varied specialists. Government-specific specialists would be nice. Also I want to make some specialists available only after a certain tech is discovered.
Starting positions please. And add units, edit diplomatic status, etc. ENABLE US TO CREATE SCENARIOS FIRST AND FOREMOST PLSKTHXBYE.
One small problem I've run into when editing is the limits the editor places on what a unit can do. If I want Aegis Cruisers to be able to move 50 tiles in one turn I should be able to.
One change I would like to see to the game:
Remove cruise missiles. They're useless and have been replaced by naval bombard anyway. However naval bombard DOES have a very limited range so this is what I propose (not that it matters):
Some naval units should have two different bombard attacks. One that is very powerful but has a limited range - this corresponds to shore bombardment which has already been implemented. The second bombard attack has much greater range but less effectiveness and perhaps costs a few gold to accomplish or something like that. You effectively trade bombard strength for range. If this were implemented cruise missiles would become redundant and could be removed. (Expect a mod from me sometime soon that accomplishes this, unless Firaxis does it first).
Also, I want a little more of this, and plenty of that - ALL of this, none of that, and f*cking plenty of that. Oh and the demands will all change tomorrow, so f*cking stay awake.

Re: Will our suggestions/complaints/requests be put in upcoming patches?
Not many of them (proportionally). Everyone has their own different views as to what needs to be changed.
They will stick with the strategic level of play, tactical combatants be d**ned, and spruce up the Editor a bunch so everyone can have their own game. That will create a true "Tower of Babel" of Civ3. They'll plug a few more (perceived) holes.

in fact, since civ3 is selling well(still in the top 10 after 3 months), an expansion pack looks certain. which means that firaxis will keep on making patches at least until the release of the expansion...Co-Founder, Apolyton Civilization Site

I mean, it totally makes sense, and I WANNA believe it... but, ya know... there's that cynical little guy in the red suit hovering over my left shoulder whispering to me, "Don't believe him! He's just f***ing with you, man... " (this visual is a lot funnier if you imagine he's saying this in a tone of voice akin to one of the members of the Lollipop Guild)Infograme: n: a message received and understood that produces certain anger, wrath, and scorn in its recipient. (Don't believe me? Look up 'info' and 'grame' at dictionary.com.)

I hope there will be another (or more) patches to the game as well. After all, I spent big $$$$ on this thing, and hope to get more out of it.
And, why did they put in those stupid CD-protection **** on the last patch? I gotta go play Civ3 on my mom's PC, cux it will not run from my CD-RW. WTF!!!==========================
