  • Questions about unit abilities

    Two of them, in fact:
    1. Mounted units vs. pikemen - how does it work, exactly?
    2. What does the turn to attack ability grant the unit?

    1) No one who is talking knows for sure.

    2) I think it's a graphical thing only.

      1. It works exactly like combat between any other two units. Pikemen have no inherent bonus vs. mounted units. Actually, the Mounted ability is currently unused within the game and has no effect on anything.

      2. This is an animation setting. If the attack animation comes from the side of the unit (e.g., Battleships), the unit must turn sideways to properly display its attack animation.

And Mike, I'm pleasantly surprised. Firaxis just earned a point in my book .

should pikemen have an advatage, they virtually rendered cavalry/knights/horsdemen obsolete for a LONG time.
