People here are so negative because everyone who likes the game is playing it instead of talking. I don't talk much but I'm a kid and I'm curious and others just like to look. I just always wondered why people never say anything positive here. A little voice told me though, actually I think it was another post but whos counting. Fun fun game, but why does everyone refer to higher levels as easy I find warlord challenging, and fun because I can win while playing my own style and still have to try a little bit. Hey, if anyone here has some extra food you don't want e-mail me!

I personally never say anything positive cause I've been a life long pessimist. But really, the thing is, that people have VERY high expectations from Civ2 and SMAC, and the fact that they've found every little problem means that they play and enjoy the game long enough to look for it. Everyone also had a different idea about how Civ3 would be, so obviusly people were going to be a bit angry when it wasn't what they expected. Just be glad you weren't on the ToT boards when it first came out.... I made a few real b|tchy posts about it, joined with many more pissed off people than have been for Civ3.

I like the game too. I played it for awhile, went and played EU2 for a few weeks and then started Civ3 again and am having a good time. Hobbitt, you should check out the Strategy, Creation and Files Forums, many people who are playing the game post stuff in there that's interesting to read (the General forum is more like a soap opera full of spurned lovers).
Have fun

Board trolls or mean stab ya in the back heart kind of trolls, I know both. Ok I'll check out the other forums. I'm kind of interested in graphical mods, I love change but I like the gameplay so that would be one things I could safely try to manipulate

"Of all tyrannies, a tyranny exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It may be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end, for they do so with the approval of their own conscience."

Good on ya Hobbit.
Enjoy the game.
