  • And what flavour victory would m'ssr et m'mselle like?

Civ 3 is fun. But it could be more fun.

How do you like to win your games?

I personally prefer a really close finish where at the critical moment, I just manage to pull off a clever move and crush my rival while securely propelling me into top place.
For a real sense of excitement and achievement, there must be some risk, a gambit, with BIG stakes - instead of the typical build X critical mass of cities and use huge production cities to overwhelm enemy.

After that, I usually don't bother continuing since I know I've won (except the game doesn't acknowledge that).

I was assuming this is the way everyone likes it but maybe not. I thought I'd poll and find out what people's preference is.

Assume we're not talking about your first game where you're just learning the ropes.

    Note:

This is supposed to be related to how you'd PREFER to play and win your civ games - not necessarily how you actually do.

When I say high risk loss, I mean you lose. No consolation prize. No "histograph" victory even if you failed to conquer the world.

    Questions & comments welcome!

nuts! so little voting in this poll!

although the results are already surprising me!
I guess most folks don't care how they win as long as they do.
