How about a Complain Forum? Why not make a forum where people can rant and rave and complain without clogging up the people on this board who are just looking for general information?

Hmmm....so....if I wanted to COMPLAIN about the existence of a complaint forum....where would I go?
I like the idea, but I suspect if it were so, then the mods would find themselves:
a) having to constantly move threads from here to the new section
b) having to make distinctions and judgement calls on whether something was a complaint or a simple debate/disagreement
c) have to make further judgement calls on what to do with threads that were both (ie - a thread that started out sane and rational, but had a variety of complaints dropped in the midst of it).
I like the concept, but fear the implementation may prove difficult.

Cause and effect
There wouldn't be so many complaints if Civ3 was stable and the AI not so quirky.
At the moment Firaxis seem to be receiving but not transmitting. I feel like one of a large community of beta testers. What it needs is for Firaxis to acknowledge all the bugs, tell us that they are fixing them, and which 'missing' features will/will not be in patches. That alone would reduce the complaints significantly.
Then, if people would be more positive, we wouldn't have any complaints, only lobby groups of one kind or another trying to get a future feature promoted up the 'hit list' of planned changes.

Hmmmm... there already is a complaint forum. It's called the CivIII General forum
But seriously... as long as people don't get personal and start flame wars, it is OK to complain about the game. People are welcome to their opinion. Many people like the game, and many don't like it... that's life... deal with it.
I will say that I've started deleting or closing complaint threads that are just rants or don't add anything new. It really isn't to hard to find a thread to complain in, so many new ones aren't really needed. (especially the ones that are just the same whines over and over again)Keep on Civin'

The problem is I think that after a few months the complaints will die down and the "hardcore, I am googly eyes Civ 3" types will still be here. Except Yin, he'll be here forever"What can you say about a society that says that God is dead and Elvis is alive?" Irv Kupcinet

PS I'm glad this community is so uncomplicated, with the various camps so well lined up. I remember when XCOM 2 and C&C came out and nobody knew which side to be on. Message boards are always the same, but it's nice to know where people stand just by looking at their name.
