Well, it doesn't crash under Win98SE with ATI Radeon but it's still wonky.

The first version of the patch hosed the foreign advisor screen so you couldn't see your relationships with other civs.

The second version of the patch fixed this but introduced an offset bug for the border around city titles on the map screen - if you play in any res but 1024 after going to an advisor screen you'll have black rectangles all over the map below the title.

That's not as bad as the first version but it's still disappointing.

Looks like there's a fifty/fifty chance for it to work on my machine, I use XP.

I see there haven't been many partiating in this poll, kinda makes the poll unuseable

I'm on Win'98 and "strictly speaking", it runs. But only strictly speaking.

It doesn't crash, but funky stuff happens. E.g., in the last game the lines disappeared from the tech tree, so there's no way in heck to see what tech do I need to research first, to get to something down the line that interests me. E.g., I've already posted that thing about the mysterious spearman that disbanded itself in my city. Fun stuff like that, really.

                Win98 SE, works perfectly.

Although the font shadow for the pop. number looks crappy.
Also, gimme stack movement! One at a time is just silly.

Hmm. I chose "Other OS, works great!", because it worked before, but now, when I started Civ3, I chose "Load game" and I got this message... It is on a Danish comp. so i'll translate:

Hmm... Correction. It loses ALL lines after a while. Even those that show war/peace/whatever on the diplomacy advisor screen. I'm on 98 SE, too.

ALSO, when trying to mod it, I tried changing the "Scout" name to "Drone". Wham, protection fault when running Civ 3 and trying to build one. I can make that unit do anything, I can change its cost, nationality, whatever. But if I rename it, the game crashes when I select it for building in a city.

Never tried with other units, but I'm guessing the poor mod support may be why some people are having crashes. If you're using some mod, try without it, and see if it helps.

                      Running Win 98 SE

Game hung system during the beginning of my turn, just when a newly discovered tech should have been announced by tech advisor I think.
The tech was Theology. Had to reboot.

Game crashed once before as well, I did not pay attention to the circumstances then.

Using second version of patch. Unpatched game worked fine.

                      Addendum:

I reloaded the autosave from the previous turn, game crashed again.
                      Debug returned the following info.

                      Access violation at:

                      00460461 mov ecx,dword ptr [ecx+edx*4]
