  • A couple of questions

I have a couple of questions, that I haven't been able to find the answers for.

*You're lazy, Asmodean - go read the manual again*

No really, I couldn't find it!!

*Lazy boy...do you think anybody here haven't seen through that*

    But it isn't there, really!!

    Anyway - here goes:

Is it possible to speed up Wonders, by lumberjacking, or will nothing speed up the building of a Wonder?

If you change the rules in the .bic file, does this apply only to new games, or to saved ones aswell?

On the science screen, some improvements are x'ed over with a red x. What does this mean??

Will Great Leaders emerge from battles with barbarians, or only from winning battles with rival civs.

    Answers would be greatly appreciated.

    Asmodean

    edit: 4th Q added
Im not sure what Baruk Khazad is , but if they speak Judeo-Dwarvish, that would be "blessed are the dwarves" - lord of the mark

Generally, no. At least not in the way you're used to. Wonders cost more, so this is a bit of a bummer. Lumberjacking does help but at only 10 resources per square, you better get chopping!

AFAIK Great Leaders can help speed up Wonder production (although for some reason, I can't get them to work).

Sorry but... RTFM (or should I say, RTFC - "Read The f***ing Civilopedia")!

I'd assume saved ones at well.

On the science screen, some improvements are x'ed over with a red x. What does this mean??
Don't know. Haven't seen that one. Might be that you don't have the necessary resources currently availble to build that improvement?

I've only seen them come from battles with rival civs (you need an Elite unit to have any chance at all). They are quite rare though.

The red cross tells you that the wonder shown there becomes obsolete with the discovery of that tech. An example is say Education, you should see the icon with a red cross through it is the Great Library...
