Besides the Tech-Brokering Problem others have mentioned, Techs seem FAR too easy to buy for PENNIES in the Ancient Age & seem FAR too easy to sell for TONS & TONS of money later.
In my current game I am doing no tech-brokering, the only techs I sell are those I research. However, I noticed NONE of the AI Civs are researching Medicine... time passes... still NONE research Medicine (are those leaders any different? ). When I go to sell Medicine the other AI Civs are willing to give me their treasury & most of their income it seems for just 1 Tech! France offers 55 gold/turn & 570 gold upfront... that's over 1500 gold for 1 tech & France is only the 6th highest in score! I'm only at war with Egypt... assuming 9 of the 13 other AI Civs pay only 1000 gold each for Medicine, that earns me over 10000 gold... for 1 Industrial Tech.
Wouldn't the AI Civs be a little smarter not to make themselves bankrupt for just 1 Tech (especially one that gives no wonders, improvements, or units)?
