Well, we all play the same game but obviously in different ways. I think that we can divide Civers into two main categories:
1.Those that view it as a game, and thus wish to win the game the best way possible (since thats fun)
2. Those that view it as a game, and thus wish to be able to experiemnt and doas they please (since thats fun)
Type 1 plays the highest possbile difficulty and is always seeking ways to maximize their potential. These are the people who do, or care to , have victory in diety by 1 b.c. and use vaunted and well laid out strategies.
Type 2. plays at any level they like, from chieftain to diety, and emander their way through the game, sometimes with no more strategy than don't get killed.
I expect that type 1's will outnumber type 2's since this is a forum and people who care to go to forums are more likely to be type 1 (or so i hypothesize)
P.S. I am type 2
