  • Where can I find a manual online?

I've already dropped my manual in the bath and it is trashed. I would like to finish reading it, so I'm wondering if anyone knows a site when it is posted or I can download it.

This is the third manual I have destroyed...maybe I shouldn't read in the bathtub :-)

LOL, try reading in the shower !!!

I'd like an updated manual online, it took me ages to find out how to establish embassies in the end, the only clue was in the Civilopaedia.

The answer has been added to The CIV3-GENERAL FAQ: COMMON QUESTIONS/COMPLAINTS/ARGUMENTS and their ANSWERS , where you also asked, for anyone who wants to know (it's on the CD).

What does PDF mean? I can find a Windows Media Player file called "manual" in my Civ 3 directory, but my WMP is ****ed and it won't run. I can't find a text document of the manual, which is what I'm lookin' for.

                Thanks in advance.

Have you tried the folder called "Manual"?

Ok, if you browse the cd contents using windows explorer or my computer, you'll see a folder called "Manual". Open it up, and there'll be a file there called Civ3Manual.pdf Open it up using Adobe Acrobat reader (The install program for that is in the same directory).

Sorry if I sound condescending there, but its not exactly Rocket Science is it? :-)

By the way, PDF = Portable Document Format. Its the standard format for manuals/documents found on the internet, and is only openable using Adobe Acrobat Reader. You cannot open them using any other programs, as they are designed specially to be not editable unless you use the specific Adobe Acrobat software, which makes them perfect for manuals, etc, as you don't have to worry bout accidently deleting important sections of it, or the information contained in them being edited.

                      Free Acrobat Reader

I think you can download a free version of it from Adobe's site. Keywords are "I think", don't quote me on this.

I must have a different manual from you then. I look in the index under "Embassy", it says page 138. So I look on page 138, and it says "To establish an embassy, double-click the Foreign Ministry icon on your capital city".
