Does anyone here play Civ1 anymore?

I now have Civ1, Civ2, and Civ3. I am new to Civ3 and to Civ1 (which I recently got on a CD in Computer Gaming Magazine.)

But I have to say, I am really taken with Civ1 - with its simplicity, with its straightforwardness, and yes, with its magic.

With Civ2 I never found myself saying "Just one more turn..." And with Civ3 I am not inclined to say it either.

But with Civ1, for some reason I find myself saying "Just one more turn."

So do any of you still play Civ1, and what are your thoughts about it in comparison to Civ2 and Civ3?

I stopped playing it around about 6 years ago. I got a copy of it again a few months back, played it and thought it was not how I remembered it.

It was a great and innovative game in its day, but seems very dated now. Civ2 seems dated to me now too. (ah, sacrilige!)

That's why civ 1 is one of the best games of all time, and it is why we have civ 2/3, smac, ctp1/2.

A lot of people here, like myself, played civ 1 to death So I dont play it much anymore.

I like how you can finish a game of civ 1 in about half a day! Try doing ICS and despotic conquest. You should be able to conquer the world and get an awesome score.
