Foreign Civ Stats?

I really miss that Foreign Civ statistics screen from Civ2. In C3,
i cant tell what techs the AI has unless I go into the Diplo screen and see what he/she wants.....and that dosent work in war. Also, how much gold do they have? Again, without being able to talk to the leader, I cant find this out. My dang spies/embassy should get off their a$$ and do some intel, dammit!
Then again, I also want Civ3 MP and Sandra Bullock, but those probably wont happen either.

Yeah, i really miss that sort of information and stats about the other civs. How do we know what they are researching?? Or who they are trading with, or their current tech level?? Or even the stats of the number 1 civ, to allow you to compare your civ to theirs. All we get currently is our rank.
