  • Okay, okay, I bought the game, so sue me

I lasted 4 days after release, even got the LE, which was crap but only 10 dollars more

I'm enjoying it so far - stayed up to 1 am playing it last night so that is a good sign.

My main beef with it is it has an unfinished feel. Its not civ 2.5 but its not complete either. You seem to have much less fingertip control over your civ than in civ 2 but maybe I haven't learned the interfaces yet.

But overall its good - I give it 7 out of 10.

    Consider yourself sued!

But really, just 1 a.m.? Okay, I understand now you're in Europe (or somewhere) and this was just your first day....

It's when those 5 a.m. nights on a worknight come around that it gets to you (especially if you feel really good about having done it)! I have now gotten it under control and stop about 9 p.m. on (most) worknights.

Brought to you by a civ 'fanatic'!

Watching those workers swing an axe really makes me weary.

You might as well get it Raz - its not as good as civ II but its better than CTP II. The ai can actually fight a bit.

the AI is giving me all the trouble a can handle on warlord level! it expands like you would'nt believe, an AI that ICS's!

ras, don't wait for MP because without some serious programming the game is way too slow to support it, but overall a good game, the strats that work for Civ2 don't usually work for Civ3 which is a good thing IMHO (and no more pushing caravans round a giga map to stay competitive )

Civ3 is an excellent game because it evolved from civ2 which was an excellent game. Aside from the the culture and redone trade system, civ3 has added nothing new to offer civ veterans. (A fact that is extremely disapointing). Additionally, Firaxis has left out some of the best features (in my opinion) of previous civ games. (i.e. Underwater cities and roads (CTP II) and other slightly future techs) With the high price I paid for this game, I hope Firaxis will not put a half-hearted effort into the patches as it appears they have put into the developement of civ3.

I also got tired of replying to every freakin post so now I'm just treating it as a kind of bird box left in a tree.
