Help Appreciated.

When I change workers to Tax Collectors or Scientists I don't see any change in the City screen to research beakers or $'s

What's am I missing?

Income from taxmen is calculated for your civilization as a whole, not for the individual city. Look at the upper left of the domestic advisor screen.
