How many golden ages can a civ have? Haven't had the chance to play the game yet, and I wonder...

You only get one. It's triggered either by a battle won using the Civ's UU, or by building a Great Wonder that relates to the type of Civ you have (Commercial, Militaristic, Etc.) It doesn't always trigger, but may.The other guys are always barbarians

No, during a Golden Age your production receives a boost. Also your workers are somewhat faster, I think. You get into the next era when you research all necessary advances of that age. There are some optional advances (like Monarchy or Democracy), which you don't have to research to move on to the next age. Those advances have a little symbol in the upper corner. You can still research them, when you've got into the next era.

I agree. I built the Collosis (as Brit) and went into a GA. It would be nice if it at least waited for the same era as your Unique Unit, then it would feel like it meant something other than a random event.The other guys are always barbarians
