No airstrips

IIRC, the airplanes can only be launched from cities or from carriers. There are no more tile improvements "air strips". I don't have my copy of Civ3 yet. Do you miss the air stripes ?? Please tell me ....

It's things like this that are a very real mistake in civ3....how could they make something worse than the way it was in civ2?

Seriously, what was the reasoning at Firaxis for no airstrips?

Airbases

I agree, airbases should be added for Civ3. And if they are worried that the airbases would clutter up the map, they could always make them expensive to build, take long to build, and/or have a high upkeep.
