OK, I know that Ctrl-G turns on the grid, just like in Civ 2.
I also know that the changes to your borders from a new city are shown when you have the settler active.
I can't seem to find any way to show the workable tiles of all your cities and how the new city will fit in. In Civ 2, the final patch had the grid squares colored white in the workable radii of your cities. SMAC had an even better graphical representation of this.
