Can't build army with Military Academy

I sent 3 cavalries to the city that has a military academy and I can't build an army. The command for building an army came up when I had a great leader. But I can't find the command to do this after I make the military academy. Has anyone been able to do this? I have 11 cities so that isn't the problem.

Never mind I finally figured it out. It's actually a "unit" that you "build". I thought it was going to be a command like the great leader had.

I hvae several elite units in the bginning of the middle ages but i haven't got any leaders yet
