How do I change the resolution of the game?

I'm very surprised that Civ3 runs very sluggishly on my p3-650. I want to change the resolution of the game. What lines do I need to add to my .ini file if I want the resolution to be 800x600?

I tried KeepRes = 1 in the ini but didn't work.

1. If it is running sluggish on your p3-650 you have other problems - It runs quite snappy on my P3-500 laptop.

2. You can't change the resolution to 800x600 - see system requirements:

Video: DirectX® 8.0a-compatible video card* (must be able to display 1024x768x16 bit)

1024x768 is as low as it goes.
