Manhatten Project, is it a major or a minor wonder ?
Manhatten Project, is it a major or a minor wonder ?
Several people gave different answers to this question.
Can someone that is actually playing the game, confirm if the Manhatten Project is a major or a minor wonder ?

So far, those people in this forum who've played the game say that it is a minor wonder. I know that Avault's screenshot indicated that it was a major wonder, but I believe that is false. They must have an earlier version of the game.
Of the Holy Roman Empire, this was once said:
"It is neither holy or roman, nor is it an empire."
I remember that some Firaxis guy said that your civ(and your civ only) will be able to build nukes after the MP is ready. And since they wont limit nukes to one civ it should be a minor one.

The Manhattan project is definitely a great wonder. It works slightly differently from the others because it allows the construction of nuclear weapons by all civilizations.
Well, looks like this will be the first thing that's edited then. Why Firaxis changed it back to a great wonder instead of a minor that all civ's must build is beyond me.
Did all other Civ's in the world gain instant ability to build nukes once the US did? No. Shouldn't be any different in the game (i.e. no freebies for anyone!)

But but but...
I'm sure that I heard some official source saying it's not like this.
Btw, BlueHooHoo, can you check the PDF Manual thread now?

it would really suck if it's a major wonder !
Why should anybody build it if everybody will gain profit from it.
In civ2 I always wait untill someone else builds it.
that gives me time to research ahead so I can build SDI's before my enemies can trow nukes.

Well, I know we can change it to a minor on our own..
BUT
Can we change it's effects? It would be worthless to have it be a minor wonder, but still give everyone the capabiltiy to have nukes... Then it would be just the same, except everyone can have the icon.

Actually, after looking at the editor for a while, I don't think this project can be changed to a small wonder. The reason is that the 'flags' for the small wonders don't included the ManhatP option- this option is only listed in the major wonders.
But you could make up a prerequisite technology that must be researched before nukes can be produced. This would be easy to do.
