I have just read the Avault review - and there are some slight worrying niggles amoungst the positive feedback - However and this is a big however - it is only one review.
sooo when I can next pull myself away from work I'll read the others. This will either dampen or feed my enthusiasm - but..
I want Apolyton members opinions, i.e. from those who love the Civ series and have actually played the game - I'm not sure Yin fits into that catagorie - with him the glass is not even 1/2 empty - he didn't get a drink because he missed the bus, had a row with the landlord and got barred from the pub.
...but what I really REALLY want is to get my hands on a copy of the game...come on the 16thtis better to be thought stupid, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.

But i agree with you, ill wait for reviews from competent players before making a judgement on Civ 3.I'm building a wagon! On some other part of the internets, obviously (but not that other site).

Put it this way, if I don't like CIV3, I'm not a fan of the genre. ...but I know that won't happen.
BTW, If I get my copy today, I'll be posting everything you'd want to know about CIV3, plus screenshots! It's still really early here, so I don't imagine I'll get the game until late today, or even tomorrow (I live in Canada so we get games one day later than the Yanks.)Of the Holy Roman Empire, this was once said:
"It is neither holy or roman, nor is it an empire."

Anyway .... it is now 1126hrs on the east coast, so I would expect our American Apolyton collegues to have been camping outside their software vendors and to have recieved their copies by now.
..but no posts on this thread yet! Imran is probably asleep now as he spent most of last night awake!
Sooo I can assume that they must all be playing it now instead of posting ---- the bast@rds !!tis better to be thought stupid, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.

Well, most of us have jobs! So it would be a bit difficult for us to have already gone to the store, purchased Civ3, installed it, and played it.
Not to mention, Apolyton's having some trouble under the current heavy load, which makes feedback a bit tricky...

Anyway...30th October should be a National Holiday in the US ... that's extremely poor planning on your behalf.
