Yes, please keep that in mind. B&W as released was a pile of garbage and yet got 9+ and was heralded as 'highly polished' for God sakes. Wait a few weeks for 'real' reviews not giddy hype.

Strange that they have SMAC rated higher than Civ 3...

OT, Black and White was unique: it was so pretty and had such freedom of movement and was so hyped that a lot of people (including me) loved it after Hour 6 but (like me) couldn't stand it after Hour 20.

Black and white would be great. . .

if the patch they released had managed to reduce the save game time so that the autosave feature wasn't so annoying ... then the crashes would have been bearable... but as it is.. the game is still unstable and it takes longer to save a game than to actually play ... it's collecting dust on my shelf. That game could have been the greatest thing since latex.. but EA just had to force lionhead to meet the deadline, didn't they???
          Thanks for reading,

Right..That's it Yin, I want you to explain to me, right now, why you keep dissing Civ3? You bother to post about it a thousand times, you bother to visit the civ3 forums.
I've never surfed a site about a game I hate (or in your case, would hate).

You people who think I hate Civ3 simply haven't been paying attention. I'd explain it all ... but it's actually quite evident in all the threads around here. Go read those if you care to understand.

The best word I can find to describe Yin's position towards Civ3 is 'skeptical'.
However, it is difficult to believe that 2 times 2 does not equal 4; does that make it true? On the other hand, is it really so difficult simply to accept everything that one has been brought up on and that has gradually struck deep roots – what is considered truth in the circle of moreover, really comforts and elevates man? Is that more difficult than to strike new paths, fighting the habitual, experiencing the insecurity of independence and the frequent wavering of one’s feelings and even one’s conscience, proceeding often without any consolation, but ever with the eternal goal of the true, the beautiful, and the good? - F.N.

Re: Black and white would be great. . .

Yes the load times in that game are unbearable. THe game is fun to play around with but not to play, if you can follow my meaning.

Actualy the reason why BW took so long was cuz Molyneux funded BW himself..meaning EA didn't force him to meet deadlines. EA didn't have much to do with the release date (this time..don't get me wrong I don't like EA at all) the game had potential...but it was a miss. Shame.

                        Which one was that?

I liked Deus Ex, Baldur's Gate II, American McGee's Alice, Halflife, SMAC, Starcraft.

Didn't like B&W and The Sims.

Here I thought I was the only one who found The Sims boring (I never played B&W). The Sims was fun for the first few days then it became quite repetitive. Sim City, Sim Earth, and Sim Ants (old school SNES games, with new different variations of course) all the way baby, out of all the Sim games.
