  • Civ 3 Ports?

IIRC, there was a civ 1 port on the super nintendo and a recent
civ 2 port on the playstation.

This question is probably way to early, but with civ 3 comming out
in a scant 3 days, I was just wondering, Is there any possibility
of Firaxis porting civ 3 to a console system?

Firaxis would have little say or input on that.

Infogrames would in charge of deciding whether to do such ports. So if you want an X-Box Civ3, start emailing the Frogs who own Infogrames

I think that a possible reason the MP wasn't in the initial release. Infogrames probably wanted a MP system that would be easily ported to the new consoles (X-Box and Cube). The new consoles are geared for internet gameplay, mostly realtime stuff, but TBS games are also a possibility for these new boxes.

Unfortunately, Infogrames doesn't support Linux in aything they publish. They must figure, it's an open-source O/S, you code it yourself.
