  • What is the background art on the Limited Edition box?

I was thinking of buying the Limited Edition mainly for the tin box. But looking at the picture of the box I couldn't figure out what the background art was about and frankly it looks a little ugly.

I guess I will be able to see the box in a few days and make up my mind but has anyone else figured out what the art stands for?

It seems like a VERY old World Map, with limited knowledge of the entire Earth.

Maybe.... if the earth was a rusty tin can.

I think it's just supposed to look aged, like something you'd find while digging a hole in your backyard...

        Um.. no.

It actually is a VERY old world map. Don't know if it is Greco or Roman... or even early Medeval.

Hmm well whatever it is I hope it looks better upclose than the picture in the link. I ain't paying 15 extra bucks for a rusty-looking tin box.

The artwork in the main edition looks fine so I really don't know why Firaxis chose something so odd-looking for the LE. There is almost almost any number of pictures and maps from world history which would have looked just fine .

              Same here!

I like it much better than the regular box. Much more 'historical'.

Yep, it's an old map. Yep, it's cool. I prefer it over the standard editon box too.
