in the bottom of 'http://www.civ3.com/faq7.cfm' there is a link I can't move the mouse over without an error. "Error: Mac Compatility enabled, button link has no name. Simply add class=fade and name=somethingunique to this anchor tag."

Yes, well, but compared to earlier weeks this is above average.

Neither can I Gramphos, but it talks about the end-game map playback, of which a picture already exists in the gallery, so more then likely, it's not a new screenshot, just a link to that screen.

That is true, but I thought Dan wanted to know.

Thanks, it should be fixed now.

There actually is a lot of new info in the FAQ. You have to read through the whole thing though, since the old is mixed in with the new. The section on Combat had a lot of new stuff about Conscripts (they only have 2 hit points, you can get them from goodie huts as well as through the draft), Mobilization, and Armies.
Firaxis - please make an updated version of Colonization! That game was the best, even if it was a little un-PC.

Hey Dan, do you get any advance warning from webpages that are about to post Civ3 previews/reviews? Also, which websites should we be searching for early Civ3 reviews? Which sites/magazines did Firaxis send Civ3 gold copies to?

Can conscripts be upgraded to normal units after winning combat?

That reminds me, do conscripts remain normal soldiers after you demobilize society? Or is drafting a peacetime option as well? Can conscripts raise their rank to normal/vet through combat victories?

Do armies get morale/veteranship upgrades? If so is it by individual unit, or does the army as a whole get upgraded?

                            From the Combat FAQ:

Thus, an army of four veteran knights would have twenty hitpoints.
As I figure it, that would be 16 hitpoints. Four elite knights would have twenty hitpoints. I know, I know: picky, picky...

When it comes to websites, I don't really get any warning at all, to be honest. For big print features, we usually know in advance, since the articles / features are done well before the magazines hit newsstands, but websites are a completely different beast.

I'm not sure who handles sending out the press review copies, probably someone at Infogrames.
