  • New (?) Screenshots

I've discovered some screenshots that aren't at the civ3.com website. I didn't check out all the other gaming sites around but it's the first time I've seen some of them. The address is
Buy the domain name Gameturbo.com and launch your business with a premium domain and a high quality logo.

The site is in Korean but you don't need to read anything to see the screenshots. The writer's comments are as follows:
-I waited so long for this screen.
-Is that the Ultima logo on the right?
-The dawn of civilisation. So, where should I begin?
    -Upgrade no. 1
    -Upgrade no. 2
    -Upgrade no. 3
-Be sure not to ignore the advice of the science advisor.
    -Is this an encyclopedia?
-If you want to make a deal with me hand over your daughter! ha ha!
-You can see "domestic advisor" [this may seem obvious but remember a lot of this review's readers probably can't read English]
    -Here is the military advisor
-And of course the foreign advisor?
-Should we say she's the cultural advisor?
-The science advisor is the most important person in the game!
    -What's this structure used for?
-It was difficult to get even this far
    -Oooh! It's taking shape!
    -Neighbours! Fire! Save meeeeeeeee!

Although some of comments make him look like a Civ newbie he has actually played Civ 2.
I hope these are new screenshots. If not, just flame me and boost your post count. Then this thread won't have been a total loss.

    Look above (news window).

Good catch! Most are new screens.
“I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”
    - John 13:34-35 (NRSV)

Many of these look new- but they are similar in content to other screens out there.

Except the empty spaceship build screen- that is one I haven't seen yet.

      Thanx for the link

I was going to outline a few things, but decided not to. Learning Korean has to have a few privileges afterall.

Besides, there already are good reviews and tonnes of new info all over the net. You only have to read the news in the Civ3 section of this site or at Civ Fanatics to find out where.

No one will be learning Korean!

I think that the preview says really good stuff about civ3, and Yin is afraid to tell us. I smell a conspiracy!
'There is a greater darkness than the one we fight. It is the darkness of the soul that has lost its way. The war we fight is not against powers and principalities, it is against chaos and despair. Greater than the death of flesh is the death of hope, the death of dreams. Against this peril we can never surrender. The future is all around us, waiting, in moments of transition, to be born in moments of revelation. No one knows the shape of that future or where it will take us. We know only that it is always born in pain.'"

LOL! I'll sum the review up for you:

He didn't have time to see much more than the outward appearance of the game. But on that point, he says the graphics and interface are truly wonderful.

                    THERE! ()

Well I had Babelfish take a look at it and here are some...um... CHOICE excerpts

' ' ' Style of civilization 3 game in advance history large all branches of knowledge '
' The civilization 3 ' is positively difficult game. ' The civilization 2 ' will come out and the game which comes out after 6 years is the altitude where the feeling of the writer falls the possibility of seeing, but that which who it will approach easily, it is insignificant there is not a possibility of trying to search for from that where.
                        ...
The civilization 3 is like this,!
All things are new. As same series as it will be able to think the many thing to change also the many thing was added. No matter how fun did to be a former work ' civilization 2 ' to me ' civilization 3 ' only is difficult it could be understood easily.
                        ...
To this time the petty nerve it wrote in external form
It is like that. This time ' civilization 3 ' external form features the maximum it is beautiful and it is embodying beautifully. The this time ' civilization 3 which when is one color of the pattern whose former work is monotonous ' the rain week which it shows el until one portion the nerve is to write.
                        ...
The crab me directness is commanded a history battle and the case numerous it is one where the place where like this features also ' is the charm which is not the possibility from civilization 3 ' of falling in. The this time ' civilization 3 which when former work solders with one chapter photograph simply ' finishing comes with eastern image and softly the fun which it tries to be giving also it will be.
Don't you just LOVE machine translation?

LOL! Reading that hurt my head more than did reading the Korean! Anyway, you can pretty much tell that he didn't have much to say except "Lots of changes" and "Looks beautiful."

He also opened up with the fact that Civ3 is a 'fun historical simulation' in keeping the time-honored Civ tradition.

                          Blah blah blah

If it had anything important to say (like the other one did), I would have done the full translation for you guys. Honest.

Now in English: "This time, great effort was made on the graphics and interface (literally said: 'outward appearances')."

LOL! Guess the machine can't quite replace people ... yet.
