• different governmental eras?

are there different "levels" of government?

i noticed some of the screenshots say "Despotism" in the ADs, so it's either 1 of 3 things.

Despotism is actually a decent government for war
Based on you civ's Age of tech, Despotism (and other govts) becomes less corrupt and mopves into more modern forms (facism)
the firaxxian playing really sucks.
Yeah, it appears that the playtesters move at a snail's pace in terms of tech research and empire development.

I still want a modern day Despotism govt option
like Military Junta, where the production and research stink, but there is military aplenty.
Actually, I am just dealing with those emotional issues of loosing Fundy from Civ2. What will the Zulu nation do now?

I like that Christmas thing in your signature.

Play-testing is basically a bug-hunt. I don't think Firaxis cares about building an awesome empire to please people who drool over screenshots. I think they care about making the game fun and bug-free.
To us, it is the BEAST.

I think Sid is just "sorted". What a job, eh!

Oh, and that signature sure is funny as chewed tobacco in a tin, Anunikoba.
