  • Something like harvesting energy in Alpha Centauri..?

Will CIV3 have a production option of harvesting materials like Alpha Centauri had? In AC, you could set a city that didn't have anything else to build to harvest energy, giving your citie a boost. It was also nice because you didn't have to deal with watching what all your cities were making every turn. Included?

IIRC your cities can produce "wealth", which would be like capitalization from Civ2.
I also think it's available earlier than in Civ2...

          Thanks

Do you recall whether or not it will be available from a cities start? Is just producing wealth something that should be tech related? It seems that it would be a choice that a civ could make at any age to just concentrate on output without dealing with improvements.

Yay, I found the thread again... (it's from yesterday )

I think it should be available from the tech Currency or another early tech; from the start would be ok too, but I'd be too busy building units and settlers
