  • The terrorists strike a blow against Civ

The anti-capitalists seem to have made an impact, or something has at least as it seems there is now no capitalism ( turn procuction to gold ).

Perhaps it is allowed by a wonder rather than a tech ( the trading company? ) Or it was removed because it seemed unrealistic.

    Opinions?

Several times in the screenshots, we've seen cities producing "Wealth". It looks like not only is it back, it comes MUCH earlier in the tech tree, as this has been produced in Ancient Age shots. Plus there was that field in the editor for how many shields to gold for wealth or something. So you're fine, and better than ever.

      Wow! Really?

You see it doesn't appear in the tech tree at all as far as I can see ( see my tech list btw. And bump it too )

So this could well mean it's available from the begining.

I think cities 'default' to Wealth if you don't tell them to build anything...

Didn't they do that in Civ1? I'm stretching my memory here - haven't played Civ1 in years. And there's not much memory left after all the booze.

I think Civ1 just defaulted to building the same thing over again unless you changed it, but I haven't played it inn 6-7 years so I could be wrong.

I know that in Civ2, I often had moments, prior to trade and caravans, where there was NOTHING -- no unit and no building that I wanted to build. I had been a little worried that this would be a problem without caravans, so I hope it's true that this production into wealth option is available early.

That's as I remember it. That's why I thought Capitalization was so cool. Finally I could get some benefit from these cities that have nothing left to build (and no need for more units).
