    XP == W2K.5

    Supporting XP is a no-brainer if you're already supporting W2K. If it won't run on WXP, I'll eat my hat (or, at least, I would if I had one...)

      Yeah, the only real thing your OS needs to support is DirectX, so any version of Windows with (I think) version 8 and above will be fine for Civ3

      DirectX nine is out now in Beta too!

          How does Microsoft make money off of DirectX anyway? Or for that matter Internet Explorer, MSN Messenger, Outlook Express, etc? I guess these must be the good side-effects of Microsoft being a monopoly with (last I heard) $36 billion in the bank.

            They prevent the competition from making money out of such programs - and it hurts them more than it does MS...
