It downloaded one and it looked real bad. Tiny res so it's all blurry. Don't download them. Not worth your effort IMHO, especially with how slow Gamespot been latetly. Sorry to burst any bubbles.

Just wait for the game and be suprised (pleasantly we hope).

Yes, the resolution is AWFUL. The only reason to get them is to listen to the ingame sound.

What a waste of time besides listening to the music. You can't see ****. Not sure why they even put these things out.

I wanted to see the streamed 56 kb WM file but it only displays the GameSpot´s adds. What i have to do to see the movie after the adds? It stops before them.

they are pretty low res, but the musics great, and at least u get a look at the game in action, something we haven;t really seen too well before. Anyway, i found it worth downloaiding, only took me ten minutes for all of them on flashget with dsl modem

Yes, I agree. Not sure what the point is for posting in that small of a res. It might work for an FPS but not a game like Civ.

Maybe they posted movies from the Gameboy Advance version.

Somehow I get the feeling this was intentional, as if they didn't want us able to see too many details. I can't even read that the advisors are saying.

If your streaming you have to wait for the ads to run through and the actual video to buffer up. With the speeds of GSpot this wekk it might be a while. Have fun.

Was I the only person a little surprised with the look and general feel of the game? It felt a lot less blocky than the previous games and a lot more fluid. From the looks of it, Sid had done a good job creating a better interface...

Say this with me, "SID HAD ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO DO WITH THE INTERFACE!" I'm serious. He had little to do with design other than the head guy with a general sense of directions. He might have said I like this interface, but he had little to do with the look.

Yeah, I think Firaxis did a good job of imporving the flow of the game. It looks like there's one of those local eventsthat don't require a response and appears in the box in the lower right.
I think the only real info here is that it looks like you can't push back other civ's borders by founding your own cities. This is great; it really sucked in SMAC when the AI would keep founding cities just inside its border, pushing me back and forcing me to piss off the ress of the world by getting into a war.
"I'm a little confused. Are U.S. citizens allowed to kill suspected terrorists now?"
"I think so. But you have to be really, really sure that the person is a suspected terrorist! So be super-double sure that they make you feel nervous!"
"Well, this dude standing by my desk is wearing a really f***ed-up jacket - can I cap him?"

I wish they would have sampled these movies with a little more resolution- they are blurry at full screen.

But these movies give a VERY good sample of the music and sounds in the game
