  • Culture: city specific or civilization specific?

    I always thought that the culture level would be same for all cities of a given civ, but following screenshots seems to show that it is more city specific:




    on the last one, look at the difference between Chartres, Marseilles and Sevastopol.
    None of them are limited by neighbours, but they have cultural ranges of respectiveliy 1, 3 and 2.

    So, this mean... you take an ennemy city, all buildings are new (0 cultural value), this new city of you has 0 range culture...

    Yes it seems that way. If you live in a newly founded village in France you're totally unpatriotic even if Paris is just down the road. Now there are a lot of practical problems this creates for capturing cities but until we get the game we won't know for sure quite how it is handled.
    To doubt everything or to believe everything are two equally convenient solutions; both dispense with the necessity of reflection.
