  • Unit Stacking

Hope this question doesn't upset any of you seasoned gamers out there but does anyone know if units can be stacked the same way as in CTP with a limit on how many.... Or will there be unlimited single unit stacks a la Civ2.

I've not seen any mention of a finite stack limit like the CtP2 requirement that a tile held a maximum of 12 units. My guess is that, like Civ, there will be no practical limit to the number of units that can occupy a tile. However there will be limited armies available to you and seemingly no other way of getting units to follow each other to make moving big stacks simpler.
To doubt everything or to believe everything are two equally convenient solutions; both dispense with the necessity of reflection.

But it works differently than in ctp2. In ctp2 the stack worked as a whole. In civ3 you have armies who operate likewise, but are limited to 3 or 4 units. Stacks in civ3 seem unlimited but when attacked, one unit after another defends until defeat. Also you cannot attack as a whole but one unit after another.

Pity, because that was the only thing I liked about ctp2....

It does seem to be more natural with stacking units. You wouldn't find a company of soldiers, working as a unit, only let one man defend the position if they were attacked. Or that the whole company would surrender/die if only one man was killed.

Cumulative damage I can understand because the company's fighting efficiency would be affected if they lost a key player.

        Have to wait and see..
