    CivIII MP (a little)
Drinking high priced teas and coffees
Driving all sorts of 2002 models of automobiles
    Eating sandwiches

And probably playing a fair amount of CivIII, I would suppose.

Followed by speculating about multiplayer, followed by calculating Q2 figures for next year.

or maybee making the first Civ 3 patch.

          Hopefully NOT this.

Not saying a patch won't be necessary, but they SHOULD have already solved all the bugs they know about. Patches will possibly have to be made when some wierd compatability issues come up, or something like that. . but if there are bugs they KNOW about, that they could start writing a patch for already. . shame on firaxis.

          But, i don't think that's the case. .

good point. think we'll have MP (even PBEM mp) 3 day's after release? ya right. but i suppose other things like that are possible. .

btw, mark, what did you ever do with that chat transcript i sent to you? . . decided not to put it up? and i sent you the IRC script you asked for too, is that what you needed?

The Civ 3 Deadline seemed to force Firaxis to rush the project and finish it as soon as possible, so they proberly are making a patch for some last minute changes.

The CTP2 patch was released soon after the game, and we never heard from Activision since then.

I disagree. I didn't feel that it was rushed at all. I'm confident that if firaxis needed more time, they would have delayed the game.

The core of the Civ 3 team are going to be focussed on the expansion pack/patch/MP tool for some time. Some will undoubtedly move to other projects sooner rather than later. SimGolf is taking resources and Sid is already hinting he has other ideas.
To doubt everything or to believe everything are two equally convenient solutions; both dispense with the necessity of reflection.

Yeah a dress-me-up-sid virtual dress up game. Apolyton is covering it too probably

Umm, no. Why do you think MP was left out? Because they HAD to make the publish date regardless. Firaxis isn't BLizzard (thank god) so they can't take three years to develop a game that still publishes with sub-standard graphics and shoddy game balance.

People should remember that this is probably more a result of their dealing with Infogrames than any decision taken solely on the part of Firaxis. Usually a good rule-of-thumb is "blame the publisher, not the developer" when it comes to a game shipping with some perceived lack of functionality.

As for Firaxis, they are probably focusing most of their efforts on SM Sim Golf to meet that early 2002 release date. A much reduced Civ3 team will probably continue working on MP and bugs/fixes as need occurs.

Probably finsihing off MP and SimGolf - who knows maybe they're building great big permanent on-line worlds for us to conquer that allow you to come back and play MP an hour or so at a time and still play the whole game upto 2020 (or whenever it is)

Offtopic but - is SimGolf MP???
You are young ..... but you will learn.
