  • Elite Diplomats?

What will be the difference between and novice diplomats and elite ones?

Is this a question you can answer Dan?

Their social deftness when attending ambassadorial functions and the % success chance at risky missions I expect. "Your ambassador to China mistakenly uses the oyster fork to eat his crispy duck. Mao Zedong is horrified and expels him from the country. Embassy closed."
To doubt everything or to believe everything are two equally convenient solutions; both dispense with the necessity of reflection.

maybe elite ones have more functions
      IE spy ops and such
while novice ones can only do peaceful things

I thought of it as, Novice ones would be more likely to accept deals that are not necessarily in their interest, while elite ones would be more likely to decline

Anyone know where Firaxis goes into more detail about the subject?

I'm glad they at least did away with dip/spy units and made missions instead.

Read that, I was wonderin' what those actual missions might be, what the modifiers are. etc.

maybe elite diplomats allow for a spy, which can become elite in its own right?

then how would you spy on enemies?

There are diplomats in CivIII? I thought espionage and diplomacy was being handled abstractly this time?
