  • Does Firaxis' scenario tool kit allow creation of animated units?

Will we be able to create animated units, or just the pictures from BMP/GIF format?

If the scenario kit doesn't allow it, what format are the animations in? Are they sprites like Civ2:Test of Time?
To us, it is the BEAST.

I've heard they are sprites, not gif's, but you can change them easily, there's no hacking into code or anything like that

I think it would be really difficult for users to do that on their own, and I am almost 100% sure that they would not have a "unit editor" or something like that built into the game. That would have been really time consuming to implement.

I heard a long time ago that there was going to be a sprite editor. They've also said constantly that editing the unit graphics would be very simple.

They have made it clear that editing will be available, and will be more powerful than Civ II. You CAN make animated units, but if you feel like making Civ II - type units, you can make those also.

They'll be made the same way, but with all the frames the same.
