Civ 1 was approximately released about 10 years ago.
I wonder why many Apolytoners played civ3 10 years ago?
Civ 3 10 years ago?? I got into civ about 9 years ago, a year after it was released, as id heard a few good reviews about it, and saw it at a reduced price somewhere. I was young then 5 years after that, i was still playing it. I actually got up for school 3 hours early just so i could play civ for those 3 hours each morning
I'm building a wagon! On some other part of the internets, obviously (but not that other site).
I also played on a black and white laptop, but I was running off of solar power in the West African bush. I wonder if I had the only copy in Africa. Hmmm....
Cannon to the right of them
Cannon to the left of them
Cannon in front of them
Volley'd and thunder'd
Didn't you get these greek dudes, when you were a civ without invention but with democracy OR republic? (which would not be necessary in Civ I, because you could stay in despotism without any problems)
Not as depicted in the screen shot (PC version)
The screenshot has a totally different drawn style from what I remember.
- On the PC version You had the face of the leader you were talking to and arround the leader would be a number of advisors depending on how powerful he/she was.
tis better to be thought stupid, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.

Are you sure that shot isn't from the Super Nintendo version?
No, these are screenshots from a final beta review for the PC (MS-DOS). For some reason the graphics were changed at the last moment (some mysteries will never be solved ).
P.S
MarkG and DanQ can confirm these pictures are genuine. I sent them the evidence a few weeks ago.
Skeptics should forego any thought of convincing the unconvinced that we hold the torch of truth illuminating the darkness. A more modest, realistic, and achievable goal is to encourage the idea that one may be mistaken. Doubt is humbling and constructive; it leads to rational thought in weighing alternatives and fully reexamining options, and it opens unlimited vistas.

Well I think they made a good decision - your screen shot looks horrible!
You never played the original Railroad Tycoon then. You'll find the same sort of graphics in that one.
