  • What happens when you build a new city with foriegn settlers?

I shortened it for space but that should read "What happens when you build new cities with settlers built in a captured city and the settler is of the former nationality?"

    A) Settler builds city that is completely loyal to former civ. If culture improvements and/or loyal settlers must be put in to create balance.

    B) Settler can only be added to existing cities.

    C) Cannot create non-loyal settler.

    D) Other.

I can't be sure, but I believe the new citizens are your nationality, regardless of which city they come from.

I think you are right. Dan stated that you can perform small scale ethnic cleansing by making settlers out of foreign citizens. It wouldn't exactly be ethnic cleansing if when you built your new city, the foreign citizens reappeared, now would it? It seems it would be of your nationality. At least that is my guess.

Why don´t you think it could be a foreing people level 1 city?
That city should need a garrison from the begining in other not to revolt, but as it grows up, new citizens are loyal, so in the long term, if you are able to garrison it from the beggining, its a good deal. I guess that added foreing settlers to an existing city also generate foreing citizens. So here comes again the importance of culture for asimilation...

I believe that someone from Firaxis said that when you capture a city the earlier poppoints of that city will be loyal to the former ruler, but new poppoints will be loyal to you, why not the same for founded cities? A strong culture would help to convert them to your people.

I hope that holds true for settlers you have enslaved as well.
