Yes, this is true.

I can't begin to predict just how much 'we' know about the game, but I can say that a great deal of what we do know has been inferred from screenshots and preview vids- which speaks highly of the fans because it means we are really making an effort to find these things out.

I think we only know 50% We know the broad picture of almost every aspect of the game from resources to diplomacy. However we don't know the nitty gritty details or anything about the espionage. But all the details are only a month away from being answered.

we know VERY little of anything past the ancient/middle ages.
what about:
planes, tanks, transports, satellites, wonders, resources, units, MAD...

while we know some of these things from the modern ages, MUCH is not know (which is good...a nice surprise!)

although, since i didnt play SMAC long enough, i have NO inclination as to satelites and how they work...but i will wait 3 more weeks to find out.
