  • Civ3 preordered

OK, I clicked on the Amazon.com link on apolyton.net/civ3 and ordered directly a limited edition copy of Civ3.

The following question may sound really stupid, especially coming from someone who worked a year in IT before starting university, but...I'm studying in the UK, will the fact that it's a copy imported from the US make any difference running on my UK version of Windows 2000. I ask only because the latest version of VirusScan, version 6, currently works only on US Windows systems.

Silly question over, please allay my fears...I can't possibly wait until 25 December, Amazon.co.uk's stated release date....

Civ 3 will work on all suported operating systems listed at Civ 3. W2k is included.
I'm building a wagon! On some other part of the internets, obviously (but not that other site).

Does American software have copy protection that checks to see if the CD is in the drive? I read an article awhile back that said that is was only British shops that insist on it but I don't know how true that is. I've ordered the american LE version which might mean I don't need to have the CD in it to load the game.

If you live in the US order it from EBGames.com. They are selling the LE for $59.99 plus Risk II free. If you're wondering about the delivery it is two day airmail.
